Utilizing HIS for income/socioeconomic responses allows Systems Design to be the
SINGLE SOURCE for tracking all Eco Disadvantage information, avoiding duplication and/or conflicts between multiple sources [Direct Certification, DC by association, other categorical designations [Homeless, Migrant, Runaway, ...] and code 99 for other Eco Dis], simplifying maintenance of the codes in the student information system. When all sources are managed in Systems Design, as snapshot deadlines approach, a list of only those students that need to complete a survey is easily generated to distribute to campus administrators to maximize responses received.
